Hamburger Steak and Gravy




Ingredients for Steak:
· 1 pound ground beef
· 1 egg
· ½ teaspoon salt
· ½ teaspoon garlic pepper
· 1 tablespoon minced onion
· ½ cup bread crumbs
· ¼ cup flour
· 2 tablespoons oil

Ingredients for Gravy:
· 1 package onion soup mix
· 1 onion, peeled and chopped
· 3 ½ cups water
· 1 (4-ounce) can mushroom pieces, drained
· 2 tablespoons flour

Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl combine ground beef, egg, salt, pepper, minced onion and bread crumbs. Mix together and form into 4 hamburger steaks. Dredge in the flour.
2. Heat oil in a medium skillet and brown steaks on both sides. Remove to a plate.
3. Add the gravy ingredients to the skillet and bring to a boil, stirring to mix well. Add the hamburger steaks back to the skillet and turn heat down to low. Simmer for 30 to 35 minutes on low heat.
